Improving Reproductive Health- Male Infertility Treatment

Years ago, if a couple was unable to become pregnant, the "blame" typically was placed on the female partner.  She would immediately be labeled as infertile, and might choose to undergo a series of infertility treatment options to increase their potential of conceiving a healthy child.  After years of study, however, it is now known that men contribute about 35% of the causes for infertility.  Infertility treatment now involves men to a great extent.

If you and your partner have been making love unprotected for awhile without becoming pregnant, it's easy to become concerned that something may be wrong.  Before you jump to conclusions, however, there are a variety of infertility treatment methods you can do at home to improve your chances of getting your partner pregnant.

There are many factors that might contribute to male infertility and some easy infertility treatment you can do to overcome some of them.  If you are a smoker, the best infertility treatment you can undergo is to quit smoking!  Smoking both decreases the amount of sperm you produce, and the liveliness of the sperm.  Additionally, marijuana and other recreational drugs, including chronic abuse of alcohol, can severely damage the healthy sperm production.  If any of these issues pertain to your lifestyle, the first infertility treatment you can do to increase your odds of creating a baby is to stop each of these lifestyle factors.

While exercise is good for your overall health, a common infertility treatment involves determining whether or not you are over exercising!  Too much exercise can reduce the level of testosterone in your body, and therefore, lower your sperm count. Monitoring your exercise is a practical infertility treatment option for men.  Also be careful not to wear jogging pants or tight underwear that may cause your body to overheat- this would include hot tubs and saunas that would also result in a higher temperature of your scrotum.
