Couples desperate to have a baby will go to great lengths to conceive and give birth to their precious offspring. For example, an initial consultation for infertility treatment in India is between 500 and 1000 Rs.  That is the equivalent of $10 US and $12.91 AUD.   In vitro fertilization in India is billed at 50000 to 90000 Rs, which is the equivalent of $2500 US and $3227.89 AUD.  If you were to receive a consultation in the US, the average price is about $315, while one cycle of in vitro fertilization can run over $6,000.

Deciding whether or not you want to receive infertility treatment in another country is a big decision and can only be made by you and your partner.  If cost is a concern, you may want to research the options in India and see if you can receive infertility treatment there that is more affordable.  When you finally have your precious baby, you want to make sure you have enough money to take care of him or her, so cost is a major part of the infertility treatment decision.
